Monday Feb 03, 2020
Margie is a native of Walterboro, South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University in 1991 and a Master of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2002. Margie spent 12 years as an educator in the Greenville County School District before enrolling at the Charleston of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate as a member of the first graduating class in 2007.
After graduating from Charleston Law, Margie joined the law firm of Savage & Savage, P.A., in Charleston, where she worked on high profile criminal matters under the tutelage of Andy Savage.
In September 2008, Margie took a giant leap of faith and formed the Pizarro Law Firm, LLC, located in historic downtown Summerville. Margie believes that by starting her own practice, she could be more effective in helping clients deal with a wide variety of legal issues as the Pizarro Law Firm is a general litigation firm focusing on matters including Family Law, Criminal Defense, Personal Injury, Estate Law, and Medical Malpractice. Since opening its doors, Margie has represented clients in all state and federal courts, and she has worked hard to help them navigate their legal issues. Margie's practice has also taken her to California where she has supported the litigation in celebrity and high asset family court cases. Margie is truly realizing her passion for helping clients at all levels of litigation and also in securing and protecting their rights.

020 - David Weigelt - Faith in the Workplace
Monday Jan 27, 2020
Monday Jan 27, 2020
David Weigelt is Managing Chair of C12 Central Maryland, a lifelong entrepreneur, and lover of Jesus, The Greatest Showman, and all things digital.
As the co-founder of a marketing agency focused on adults in the second half of life, David and his partner wrote the book on how to leverage digital media and human behavior to meaningfully engage older adults online.
During David’s time as President and CEO of Immersion Active, he became aware of C12 while looking to establish a board of advisors to challenge his thinking and increase accountability. With no C12 groups in Maryland at the time, David drove to Philadelphia once a month for three years and would later participate in Maryland for another four years, seeing significant growth in both his company and personal leadership.
After 18 years of service and driving $1.5B in sales for their clients, David and his partner sold their business to the global leader in in-home care for seniors, Home Instead Senior Care.
As a member of Home Instead’s senior leadership team and head of Innovation, David and his team built an innovation program spanning 12 countries and resulting in dozens of new products, processes, and business models. One of the ideas birthed from the program would become Home Instead’s top strategic initiative bringing technology to the frontline of the business and driving Home Instead’s digital transformation.
Born in Media, PA, David was raised and proudly calls Maryland home. He’s married to his wife of 24 years and has two grown kids; one serving his country as a naval aviator and one serving hers’ as a comedian and scriptwriter.

019 - Jen Preisendanz - Overcoming Abuse and Addiction
Monday Jan 20, 2020
Monday Jan 20, 2020
Jen Elizabeth Preisendanz, 42, grew up in a home of abuse and addiction. Her parents joined a cult when she was three years old and there Jen was sexually abused until she was nine years old. The years of abuse Jen endured lured her into a destructive path that led from alcoholism to IV drug use.
Throughout this dark period Jen spent 13 years in and out of homelessness, living in cars and motel rooms, using and chasing drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. She was arrested many times for drug possession, being under the influence, receiving stolen property and violations of probation.
In 2010, she was in her state prison cell halfway through her sentence, when she had an epiphany and decided that she was worth more than just existing or getting by the way she was. This was the moment she decided to turn her life around.
Jen, now a mother, an author, recovery advocate, and speaker has rebuilt her life and is committed to helping others find a way out of addiction.
"I believe in recovery; there is nothing too bad and no one too far gone for healing to reach. You are not alone. There are so many of us out here recovering together. I love you."

017 Jedd Medefind - Serving vulnerable children of the world
Monday Jan 06, 2020
Monday Jan 06, 2020
Jedd Medefind loves journeying life with his wife, Rachel. He relishes wrestling matches with his five children—Siena, Marin, Eden, Lincoln, and Phoebe. Most of all, he desires to reflect the heart of Jesus Christ in all of life.
Jedd has seen (and experienced!) that lives are turned upside-down when Christians begin to reflect God’s heart through adoption, foster care and service to orphans worldwide. This kind of love transforms not only vulnerable children, but also those who open hearts and homes to them. Churches begin to look different, too, as the entire community pulls together for children who’ve known great hurt. Finally, the change touches even onlookers, who encounter the Gospel not only in words, but made visible before their eyes.
Desiring to spur this kind of transformation through the Church, Jedd serves as President of the Christian Alliance for Orphans.
Through CAFO, more than 190 respected organizations unite in shared initiatives, along with a wide network of churches. CAFO’s membership works in tandem to inspire and equip families, churches and organizations for effective service to vulnerable children and families — from adoption and US foster care, to aid and empowerment programs worldwide.
Prior to his this role, Jedd served in the White House as a Special Assistant to President George W. Bush, leading the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. In this post, he oversaw reform efforts across the government to make community- and faith-based groups central partners in all Federal efforts to aid the needy, from prisoner reentry to global AIDS. As described by the Harvard Political Review, these reforms “fundamentally changed the government’s strategy for improving the lives of the downtrodden…”
Previously, Jedd held a range of posts in the California State Legislature. He also helped establish the California Community Renewal Project, which strengthens nonprofits in some of the state’s most challenged communities. He has worked, studied and served in more than thirty countries, with organizations ranging from Price-Waterhouse in Moscow to Christian Life Bangladesh.
Books written by Jedd include Upended and Four Souls. He also writes articles and op-eds for publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post to Comment Magazine, and engages radio interviews with both faith-based and mainstream outlets, from NPR and Al Jazeera to Moody Radio. Jedd’s most recent book, Becoming Home, offers a brief-yet-rich exploration of how families and communities can embrace vulnerable children with wisdom and love through adoption, foster care, mentoring and more.

015 - Richard Pollock - 50 Years in the Swamp
Monday Jul 08, 2019
Monday Jul 08, 2019
Richard Pollock is an award-winning journalist, investigative reporter, and television producer who’s who’s spent years covering Washington, D.C. politics and news for Good Morning America, Fox News, the Washington Examiner and a number of other news organizations. We’ll hear the story of the change in his political point of view from being left wing anti-war activist in the early 70s to becoming a conservative minded reporter, who believes in the America we once knew and loved. Richard’s Jewish Faith and upbringing helped shape his view of America and continues to guide the type of stories he investigates and writes about. The interview is fascinating, and I know you’ll love the stories he tells, plus at the end of the interview Richard gives us a prediction of who will win the 2020 presidential election.

014 - Leland Carlson - Celebrating the Ordinary
Monday Jul 01, 2019
Monday Jul 01, 2019
Leland Carson is a 77-year-old retired tax attorney who founded the club for men who like ordinary things. The idea came to him in a New York Athletic Club bar. He and a group of men were looking at the club’s monthly magazine. The pages were filled with boxing, judo, skiing, sailing, and other exciting adventures.
Carson and his friends didn’t do any of those things. They confessed to being rather dull. So, they decided to start a club-within-a-club, and a new movement was born.
The Dull Men’s Club now has hundreds of members worldwide. Some collect airsickness bags. Others collect bricks. Some spend their days photographing mailboxes. And others just roam around sitting on benches.
Leland splits his time between his home in Nebraska, England, and Washington, DC.
